Google Fiber reaches Austin, TX

Google Fiber is every geek’s dream. Gigabit (1000 Mbps) speeds are simply insane, especially at the price the Search Giant is offering them. I can’t wait to test it, myself. If you are in Austin, TX, though, you are luckier than most of us.

The service has just started accepting registrations from residents and small businesses. The rollout will be divided in sections, which Google calls “fiberhoods” (of course). The first in line are Bluebonnet, Lady Bird Lake, Emerald Forest, Ben White and Onion Creek.

Opinion: At $70, you really have no better option. The competition simply can’t match Google Fiber’s bang for your buck. Switch immediately, guys!
